September’s NACE meeting will be one of our most fun and exciting. We’re taking NACE on the road to see event designer extraordinaire Dave Merrell in the Windy City. This is also our special “Bring Your Boss” meeting where all members may bring up to two special guests from their property at half the normal guest price.
Because this is a road trip our schedule is a bit different. We will be meeting at Renaissance Place at 1451 N. Prospect at 2:30 PM to board our buses to Chicago. Free parking is available in the rear lot but please RSVP early and arrive early so we can depart on time. We will be visiting Chicago Party Rental along with Chicago’s NACE and ISES chapters to hear Dave speak. The RSVP deadline is Friday, September 17th.
Since Dave Merrell opened AOO events in 1989, he has earned a reputation as designing some of the most innovative, cutting edge events in the business. Honored as “Designer of the Year” by Event Solutions in 2008, Merrell has also earned eight Gala Awards from Special Event Magazine; the event industry’s ”Oscars.” Merrell is the former President of the Greater Los Angeles Chapter of the International Special Events Society (ISES), and has served in numerous positions of international boards of ISES. A member of both BizBash Magazine and Special Events Magazine’s Advisory Boards, Merrell is regularly featured and quoted in numerous trade and consumer publications and is a popular industry speaker both nationally and internationally. Merrell’s office is located in Hollywood, California. He also writes the award-winning blog, www.designdawgs.net. For more information on Merrell and AOO Events, please visit www.aooevents.com or call 323.467.2111.
If not for the fun of a trip to the Windy City, hearing Dave Merrill speak, and a tour of Chicago Party Rental, then the evening’s menu has to be what will bring you down. We will have an awesome dinner prepared for you by the prestigious Calihan Catering.
