  As we march forward through 2010, one of our new monthly website features will be our "Member Spotlight" column!  This month we are proud to feature Misty King of the Hyatt Regency Milwaukee!  Here's what we found out about Misty:

Misty has been involved in a myriad weddings and events including, but not limited to:

Misty has handled the planning of corporate events for as few as 10 guests and as many as 50,000!!

is Taking on the WRA Expo!

Are you looking for a way to contribute to your local NACE chapter and in the process grow your professional self?  Join us at the WRA Expo on March 8-10!  In an effort to be more proactive in the events community as well as grow our membership, our chapter will be participating in a variety of areas at the expo!

>Expo Booth:  We will be hosting a booth at the Expo in an effort to educate the masses about all of the amazing things our Chapter can offer to its membership!  Yes, we offer networking opportunities within the events industry, but what most people don't know is the mentorship, support and educational opportunities we also provide.

>TableTop Contest:  Show off your style, have fun doing it and win cash prizes, accolades and the admiration of your peers!  Let's be honest, you are full of fun ideas and creative gems that are just dying to get out!  Well, this is your FREE opportunity to show YOUR stuff.  Just hit this link for more info on how you can have your day in the spotlight!

>Seminars:  Four of our "illustrious" members will be offering two seminars at the Expo this year!  Our fearless leader David Caruso will be giving a seminar entitled "That's Fabulous! Event Industry Trends 2010" on Tuesday, March 9th at 10 am.  Later in the day at 3 pm Julie Clemins, Ed McIntosh and Emilie Schroeder will be giving a seminar called "Elements of Buffet Design"!  Don't miss this chance to see these immensely informative sessions!

Exciting Opportunities to Win!

If you are a current Southern Wisconsin NACE member in good standing AND you attend the program on Tuesday, February 16^th, you have a chance to win some fabulous experiences!

NACE Experience 2010 – Austin, Texas

One lucky member in attendance at the program will be awarded a FREE registration ($1,200.00 value) to the NACE annual conference being held in Austin, Texas.  The conference is July 25 – 28.  The winner is responsible for all other trip expenses (airfare, accommodations, etc.).  This is a great opportunity to network with national industry leaders, to attend amazing educational workshops, to see the latest trends at the Marketplace and to have fun with your peers!

We will also be awarding a FREE registration ($1,200.00 value) to one of the Southern Wisconsin NACE Board members.  That means that one general member and one Board member will be attending the NACE Experience 2010 on scholarship ($2,400.00 value) made possible by our Chapter!

Catersource 2010 – Las Vegas, Nevada

Our Chapter will award one complimentary registration ($1,000.00 value) for the 2010 Catersource Conference and Tradeshow.  Catersource is one of the many year-round opportunities for networking and education and is the largest gathering of catering professionals in the country.  At the program on February 16^th, we will award this free registration to a lucky NACE member.

Don’t forget – you MUST be in attendance at the February 16^th program to win any of the conference registration gifts. 

This is the first time that the Southern Wisconsin Chapter has awarded three conference scholarships!  Our success as a Chapter is due in large part to the support and participation of our fabulous members.  These scholarships are just another example of the many benefits of being a NACE member!
