Meeting Follow-Up

For 2010, our NACE chapter got to participate in the annual Wisconsin Restaurant Association show at the Midwest Airlines Center in Milwaukee. Our volunteers talked with many members of the restaurant industry as well as students in local culinary programs.  Our chapter also sponsored two educational seminars for all to enjoy and learn from. Thanks to all of our volunteers and sponsors who created a wonderful experience.

Spring Campaign Q&A

Question: If a member leaves a facility and moves to another company, will they qualify for the spring campaign?
Answer: Whoever pays for the membership, keeps it. If the company paid for the membership, then the member who leaves will qualify for the campaign because they are now purchasing a membership either with a new company or on their own.

Question: How will prospects know about the campaign if they visit the website?
Answer: The spring campaign brochure will be posted to the home page of the website starting March 22 and will remain there for the duration of the campaign.

Question: Can the prospect mail a check for the spring campaign and if so, what should be included?
Answer: If the prospect would like to pay by check, please have them fill out the attached application and mail it along with the check to NACE, 9891 Broken Land Parkway, Ste. 301, Columbia, MD 21046. In order for a membership to be processed, we need the payment and application on file. Without a payment, the person will be marked as a prospect until further notice.

Question: How will we know our standings during the campaign?
Answer: We will send out two email updates to all chapter presidents and membership chairs during the campaign with your current standings.

Board Member Spotlight

Many of you know Scott Munoz. He is Hospitality Director at 1451 Renaissance Place on Milwaukee's east side. As Scott put some notes together for his interview, he realize that he is finishing his 23rd year at Renaissance Place. I think anyone in the hospitality industry knows how rare that is but it speaks volumes toward the quality of Scott’s work and the quality of Renaissance Place.

What Scott like best about the industry is how we all provide services that consumers and clients depend on either on a daily basis, or in his situation, for special occasions in ones life. The challenging aspect of his position has always been the long hours and days required to successfully complete a function. So often his duties infringe on family and personal time, but at the end, to have satisfied clients is the reward.  When he does get some free time, Scott enjoys traveling to exciting places and collecting art.

Scott is relatively new with our NACE chapter, and since joining he has become a very active member of the Programs Committee. His work in organizing our monthly programs has proven to be challenging but rewarding. He feels that NACE is perhaps the best networking group for our industry that he has ever attended.  “While I have known some of our members for many years, our meetings really allow me the time to meet the vendors on a more personal level and understand what unique services they provide.  I have found a sense of camaraderie and dedication within the group that promotes referrals to each other within our own NACE chapter.  And, I always look forward to an informative presentation and a delicious dinner with my NACE friends” (Seafood is his favorite).

We’d like to thank Scott for his dedication and professionalism not only to NACE but to our industry. Thank you Scott and we all look forward to many wonderful programs.
